一個是在香港中文大學（深圳）讀書的巴西小伙子，一個是在美國邁阿密博士一年級在讀的深圳女孩，他們在蛇年春節來臨前決定挑戰一下自己，找一個大人物做書法老師，現學寫春聯。

A Brazilian guy studying at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) and Hongzhu Kim,a Shenzhen girl in her first year of PhD studies at the University of Miami decided to challenge themselves before the arrival of the Year of the Snake. They wanted to find a master to teach them calligraphy and learn how to write Spring Festival couplets.

走，我們去寫春聯！

說做就做。大人物登場，他是香港中文大學（深圳）校長徐揚生，Chico的校長。徐揚生與書法的緣分超過50多年，他的書法作品行雲流水，落筆飄逸，已入化境。在香港中文大學（深圳）三層樓高的書架牆前，徐校長鋪開紙墨筆硯，示範了如何用毛筆寫「福」和「龍」。

They didn't hesitate—action followed immediately. The big shot made his entrance: Professor Xu Yangsheng, the president of CUHK-Shenzhen, and Chico's principal. Professor Xu has had a connection with calligraphy for more than 50 years. His calligraphy works flow gracefully, with a fluid stroke and an airy touch, reaching a state of mastery. In front of a bookshelf wall three stories high at CUHK-Shenzhen, President Xu spread out paper, ink, brush, and inkstone, demonstrating how to write「福」 (blessing) and「龍」(dragon) with a brush. 

「名師出高徒」。Chico的兩幅漢字一揮而就，全場驚嘆，連徐校長也大讚「Amazing」，完全不像是第一次寫書法的外國人。

As the saying goes, a great teacher creates great students—Chico's two Chinese characters were completed in one stroke, stunning everyone. Even President Xu praised them, saying, 「Amazing!」 He certainly didn't look like the work of a foreigner writing calligraphy for the first time.

小龍送福，蛇年吉祥。

辭舊迎新，為新的一年祈福。春節對中國人來說，是最重要的傳統節日。人們用紅紙寫上書法貼在家門口，這就是春聯。

Saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new, they prayed for a prosperous new year. The Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday for Chinese people. People write calligraphy on red paper and paste it on their doorways—these are the Spring Festival couplets.
